Hunter Stowe, a gifted Aboriginal palliative care worker more comfortable with death than life, somehow connects with Jake Montour, an introverted Aboriginal addictions counsellor struggling with anxiety disorder. When a desperate Jake asks Hunter to breach her professional ethics, they encounter a dangerous question: can trauma really change our DNA?
